NATURE OF THE SETTLEMENT
This lawsuit claims that Family Dollar caused text messages to be sent to consumers from October 16, 2013 to March 7, 2016. The lawsuit claims that Family Dollar violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act because consumers did not provide prior express written consent to receive these text messages. Family Dollar strongly denies these claims.
Class Members who submit valid Claim Forms before the deadline of June 3, 2016 will each receive a share of the One Million Five Hundred Thousand dollar Settlement Fund. Each Class Member will receive an estimated cash payment of $45 and a Family Dollar gift card for $30. The amount of your exact payment cannot be calculated at this time because it will depend on the total number of valid claims that are filed and may be increased or decreased depending on that. The maximum you can recover is a cash payment of $300 and a Family Dollar gift card of $200.
For more information about the Settlement, please review the Class Notice.
